Catherine MacLellan and Dylan Menzie Top Winners at 2021 Music PEI Awards

In the midst of a special social distanced edition of this year’s Credit Union Music PEI Week, 31 awards were awarded in celebration of Prince Edward Island’s top musicians and industry professionals of 2021. Catherine MacLellan and Dylan Menzie both topped that list of winners by taking home three awards each.

After a necessary rescheduled from earlier in the month due to a slight course correction in COVID protocols, the Credit Union Music PEI Week concluded with the handing out of the bulk of their awards as they closed out the event with the Festival Finale.

Catherine MacLellan went into the awards with a whopping total of nine nominations and, in the end, came away with the awards for Crabbe Road Productions Solo Recording, Music Publishers Canada Song of the Year (with Tara MacLean) and Contemporary Roots Recording of the Year. Dylan Menzie, who had received seven nominations, took home the awards for SOCAN Songwriter of the Year, FACTOR Entertainer of the Year and tied with Lawrence Maxwell for the Buzz Album Art of the Year.
