Single: The Blue Lane Blend Hendrix and Buzzcocks for ‘Penny Jenson’

Halifax’s jazz trio The Blue Lane apparently have a few surprises up their sleeves, and we mean more than just releasing a fresh new single on Christmas Eve. The band have released “Penny Jenson” into the wild, and rather than the bluesy number we probably would have expected (or anything relatively festive, given the context), the song is a wild mash-up of genres and a whole lot of fun. New Music: Explore a World of Jazz on The Blue Lane’s Double Album ‘Blue Land (SOLAR/LUNAR)’

Halifax jazz trio The Blue Lane have created an entirely new world with their double concept album, Blue Land. The album is split into two parts – SOLAR and LUNAR. What makes these two sides different is open to interpretation, but they are nonetheless presented by the band as opposing paths. Both parts explore various ‘areas’ of Blue Land, taking us through landmarks of the kingdom and detailing a day in the life of its residents.
