The Barra MacNeils have announced the dates for their On The Bright Side Maritime Tour featuring the album of the same name . Released back in the summer, along “Clouds Under My Feet,” one of the tracks from the album, as its own single.
It has a much more pop element than usual; with an added sharpness in their strings keys, with an ever-so-slight synthetic touch on the voices that made the group so iconic.
“We like the mix of originals and traditional music,” said the band. “It’s been a while since the Barras have released a studio project that didn’t feature a bunch of guests so it’s been a bit overdue. The material is getting really well received at the live shows and we are featuring a lot of the album.”
“I think it stands up well and deserves a listen. There’s just so much music out there. It’s easy to get lost in the shuffle.”
The tour will begin Sept 27 at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia. A full list of tour dates can be found down below.
