Future Forest Falls in Line With New Brunswick’s Pandemic Proclamations, Plans for 2021

Future Forest made their announcement late today in reaction to the news that the Province of New Brunswick would be placing a cease & desist on all festivals and large gatherings.

The massively popular EDM festival, held outside of Fredericton, New Brunswick, is following suit with many of the larger music festivals which have already incurred costs and sold early bird passes. To flatten the curve of their own economic fallout they’re providing their would-be festival-attendees options, ranging from hold onto their passes, to refunds, to donating their ticket costs towards the festival’s ongoing survival.

In the meantime, Future Forest’s organizers assure everyone that they will be spending the extra time putting their energies into making 2021 a spectacular year.

The announcement, posted to the festival’s Facebook page, reads as follows.

“Dear Future Family,

We are heartbroken to have to make this announcement. I’m sure it is not a huge surprise to anyone, but unfortunately, Future Forest 2020 will be postponed until August 2021. The province of New Brunswick announced today that there will be no festivals or concerts in New Brunswick until after December 2020. Though we are disappointed, we understand the position the province is in and how hard this decision was to make. However, your health and safety is what matters to us the most. We know this is a big disappointment to a lot of you, as it is to all of us. We want to be in the forest as much as all of you do. We will get back there again, it just won’t be this year. We will use this time to continue to work on and improve the Festival so that 2021 will be an unforgettable year. We also want to thank all of the front line and essential workers who continue to work tirelessly through this whole pandemic. We appreciate all that you’re doing to keep us safe. Our hearts go out to anyone who has been affected by COVID-19.

Even though we have incurred many non-refundable costs for the 2020 year we are offering these options:

– All 2020 tickets will be valid for 1 of the next 2 years (2021,2022).
– You can sell your ticket. The new buyer will need the physical ticket that you were mailed in order to use it at the gate. Tickets cannot be reprinted.
– You can donate the cost of your ticket to Future Forest Festival.
– You can get a refund for cost of ticket.

We are in the processes of creating a form for you to be able to choose your option. Please give us a few days to get this ready.

To all of our artists, managers, staff and crew: we love you all and thank you for your patience while things have been in limbo. Knowing that we won’t get to see you all this summer in the forest is not easy. We know you’ve all been working hard getting ready for 2020 but please know how much we appreciate it and it will not be in vain! We will be back in 2021 and we can’t wait to see what’s in store! We thank each and every one of you for your support during these uncertain and trying times. Please be kind and patient with our team as we go through the large number of emails and requests that are about to come our way and direct all communications about ticketing to: order@futureforest.ca We will respond as quickly as possible. We can’t wait to share the magic of the Forest with you in 2021; it will be anxiously awaiting your return. In the meantime, stay healthy, safe and take care of each other.

Clean hands. Clear heads. Open hearts, Much Love,
Future Forest Team”
