Single: Makayla Lynn Asks for a Little Faith That Things Can Get Better With ‘Amen’

The newest single from Nova Scotia’s skyrocketing country star Makayla Lynn may not be so new, but it seems awfully prescient. “Amen” is about having a little faith that where you’re headed to might be better than where you’ve been.

“Who knows where this road could end, it ain’t going where it’s been, amen,” sings Makayla Lynn. It leaves us to wonder whether the young ECMA-winning artist anticipated her current level of success when she first wrote the song with Rick Tiger.

She’s been performing the song live as a real audience-pleaser ever since, and while it’ll be familiar to fans the studio version gives it a massive sound.

“Amen’ is not exactly a new song! I wrote it with my dear friend Rick Tiger a few years ago and I’ve been closing just about every live show with it since,” says Makayla Lynn. “I even had the opportunity to perform it on the 2018 East Coast Music Award show and Music Nova Scotia Award show as well as venues like the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. But up until now, I’ve never released a full recording of it!”

“When thinking about what song I wanted to put out next as a single, I thought back to all of the live shows over the past few years and what songs I’ve felt positive reactions from and this song was the first one that came to mind. It is a small glimpse of my more traditional country music roots and honest, simple songwriting. I’m so excited to share the studio recording with the world!”

If wasn’t already clear which road she’s has been on this whole time, let’s not leave any doubts – Makayla Lynn is an artist to watch.

Makayla Lynn has a handful of shows in Atlantic Canada – including a showcase during Nova Scotia Music Week in Truro and a spot the annual Gordie Sampson Songwriters Circle – before heading back to Nashville.
