Evolve Organizer Offers $10,000 Reward After Fire

Evolve’s festival organizer, Jonas Hector Colter, made an offer of a $10,000 reward in a Facebook post after learning that several buildings were burnt down on the festival grounds this weekend.

Along with an the image of the still-smoking festival grounds a full day later, Colter’s post reads: “$10,000 reward to the person that has information that leads to the arrest of whom ever burned down the farmhouse, barn, and outbuildings at the evolve festival property outside of Moncton.

I spoke to the fire chief and he feels it was set on fire Saturday around 1pm.”

Several volunteers who have worked with the festival in the past have noted that much of the festival’s staging and equipment was being stored in the barns.

Evolve recently celebrated their 20th anniversary as a music festival over the July 19 weekend, and their 4th at their Beersville, New Brunswick location just outside of Moncton,  after many years in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Colter was not available for comment.

More to come as the story develops.
