Single: Logan Richard Regrets Not Getting Out Sooner On ‘Running’ feat. Vince The Messenger

Sometime you need to call it quits. And then sometimes you need know when to call in Vince The Messenger for backup.  “Running,” the new single from Logan Richard, is all about making the tough decision to move on when a sudden shift in a relationship catches you off guard with an inevitably fatal blow.

Richard explains that “Running” is a song about accepting that some relationships are unfortunately destined to end,  having run their course. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily easy to simply let go, regardless of the circumstances, but hindsight can leave you wishing you had cut the cord and bolted long ago.

Despite claims in the song that Richard didn’t see it coming, that line, “I’m tired of telling everyone that we’re on again, off again,” does offer a big red flag.

“It is another song about lost love,” laughs Richard. “I started this song a few years ago when I was in a relationship that was headed south.”

Recorded at The Hill Sound Studio, produced by Logan Richard and Colin Buchanan (Paper Lions), mixed by Adam Gallant and mastered by J. LaPointe, the song plays out the emotional tug of war that comes from a slow romantic dissolution.

“I liked the vibe of the song, but something was missing, so I called up Vince to fill in the blanks!”

Charlottetown’s rapper laureate, Vince the Messenger, jumps in to double down on the message that alone time is just a natural part of the process.

So let that be a lesson for anyone on the brink. If your friends can rap a verse about your relationship woes, it might be time to start running.
