Fredericton’s Shivering Songs Adds The Good Lovelies and More to 2019 Festival Line-Up

Shivering Songs, New Brunswick’s first music festival of 2019 and Fredericton’s answer to Punta Cana for people who like having a good time but hate sweating, continue to roll out their festival line-up. Today’s announcement included another handful of artists, starting with Ontario folk trio The Good Lovelies. The ninth edition of Shivering Songs takes place between January 22nd and 27th, and we’ve got your festival playlist to start you off.

The Music/Musique NB 2018 Award Winner for Event of the Year announced that their 2019 line-up will be joined by Beverly Glenn Copeland, Garrett Mason, Forward Music Group’s recently signed Jennah Barry, Common Holly, Alan Jeffries, Penny Blacks, Jamie Comeau & Crooked Teeth​​, and ​DenMother​​. They’ll also be joined by ​Corridor ​​and Simon Daniel, ​​who are being presented in cooperation with Pop Montreal.

We also correctly guessed the inclusion of surprise headliners and festival founders, Fredericton’s own consummate bedroom rock crooners ​The Olympic Symphonium​​.

Today’s announced performers will joining the previously announced Shivering Songs line-up that already includes two-time JUNO award winning & two-time Polaris Music Prize nominated musician Dan Mangan, recent Polaris Price winner Jeremy Dutcher, Blue Rodeo co-founder Greg Keelor, “future legend” Bedouine, ​and Nova Scotia’s award-winning Erin Costelo.

“We’re thrilled to feature so many diverse voices of this next generation of the Canadian songwriting tradition,” said Shivering Songs co-organizer, Zach Atkinson.

Festival organizers note that the double bill featuring Jeremy Dutcher ​​and​ Bedouine​​ has already sold out, hinting at what they believe will be a record year for ticket sales.
