Music Video: Andrew Waite Teases New Album With ‘Out & Out’

Brought to you via the magic of cinema, Andrew Waite and his band have journeyed through time and space to release “Out & Out,” the first video from his upcoming album, Tremors. For all the necessities of cinematic sorcery involved, the results look pretty good.

Filmed by Brendan Hendry of Minotaur Productions based in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, the group collectively overcame the challenges of largely being nowhere near each other during the shoot.

“The video was shot over a number of months: some of it in Prince Edward Island, some of it in Newfoundland. Everyone in the video was shot separately,” explains Andrew Waite.

“This happened in part because of drastically differing schedules. Nikki [Waite] and I had moved to Newfoundland for the year for school, and we flew up the videographer/director to St. John’s to film our parts.”

The track features some of the East Coast’s hottest musicians, including Prince Edward Island’s busiest bass player, Evan McCosham (Rachel Beck, Adyn Townes, Coyote, etc.), as well as the legendary Leith Flemming-Smith (Matt Mays, Adam Baldwin.)

“Though he’s not featured in the video,” Waite is quick to point out, “Leith’s played with the band a number of times now, and is an absolute weapon on keys.”

“The song itself was written from a place of optimism—perhaps some sort of a realists’ imperfect outlook on hope and optimism,” says Waite. “It’s about laying it all on the table, the good and the bad, and dealing with whatever baggage comes with that…”

Tremors is out September 28th, 2018. But in the meantime you can catch Andrew Waite & Co. at the Rock The Boat music festival, with Kim Mitchell and The Glorious Sons. The band are expected to make a full tour in the Fall, but have yet to release any dates.
