This morning the East Coast Music Association announced the host of their 2020 Music Awards Show and Conference in St. John’s, NL. Continuing in their tradition of handing over the MC duties to a comedian – one that has included The Trailer Park Boys, Jonny Harris, James Mullinger and Jonathan Torrens – this year the ECMAs will be hosted by none other than Newfoundlander Mary Walsh. The 2019 East Coast Music Awards Make Business and Pleasure Indistinguishable
“The stage was so perfectly lit you could see the drummer.”
That’s what I tell my friends and family whenever they ask me about the 2019 East Coast Music Awards.

East Coast Music Awards Announce Full List of 2019 Winners
Charlottetown, PE became ground zero for music in Atlantic Canada this week with the celebration of the East Coast Music Awards. Performances took over venues across the city, but none were so busy as the Confederation Ballroom at Delta Hotels by Marriott Prince Edward. With many of the awards handed out on Thursday night’s Awards Gala, there was still the absolutely crucial Industry Awards to be served up. East Coast Music Awards Announce 2019 Winners – Jeremy Dutcher, Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, Classified Leading the Way
Today the East Coast Music Association did very little to settle the debate over which island is the island, with host and PEI native Jonathan Torrens squaring off, mid-musical number, against Newfoundland’s The Once. If anything, they only drew national attention to it. However, we have learned in the process, who is taking home the bulk of the East Coast Music Awards.
