Neptune Theatre Makes Plan to Reopen With Fundraising Performances

Neptune Theatre are taking steps to reopen their doors for their 2021-2022 season, beginning a series of small concerts and play readings.

Neptune Theatre has, notably, been closed for the last 11 months of the pandemic. It’s understandable that some momentum may have been lost. While they’re eager to welcome audiences back for live performances, they’re going to need help to get the ball rolling on a new season.

Neptune Theatre are launching Neptune Reunited, a series of fundraising performances, presented in partnership with Audi Halifax, to raise funds to mount a (nearly regular) 2021-2022 season. These shows will be the first live performances for an in-person audience at Neptune since March 13, 2020.

“We are thrilled to finally welcome people back, and present a series of concerts and play readings that will certainly promise a delightful night of memories and laughter,” says Artistic Director Jeremy Webb.  “It’s time to warm up the theatre again.”

From March 6 – April 3, each Saturday at the Theatre will feature concert performances in Fountain Hall, and play readings in the Scotiabank Stage. The concert performances will be limited to 100 people and the readings to 50 people.

On Saturday, March 20, the theatre will host an evening of jazz, rhythm and blues from the Corey Adams All-Star Band.

On March 20, Neptune Theatre will present a showcase of upcoming performers from their Students of the Neptune Theatre School at 2:00 P.M. for World Youth Theatre Day.

“It is our hope that this is just the beginning,” says Webb. “Our patrons have told us that they are eager to return when it’s safe to do so. With a robust set of guidelines from public health we are ready to give our audiences a safe and comfortable environment to experience LIVE entertainment again!”
