Laurie LeBlanc Celebrates Magic Moments on ‘Another Night Like This’

Country singer/songwriter Laurie LeBlanc has racked up a claim to fame with 3.5+ million streams under his belt, but if you haven’t heard of the Bouctouche, New Brunswick-based artist, it might be time to brush up on your language skills. LeBlanc has a slew of award-winning francophone country albums that span back to 2010. His newest album, When It’s Right It’s Right, is his second all-English release; his first since the release of his 2013 album Influences.

Laurie LeLeBlanc says that found a little inspiration and along with a bit of a nudge from his wife and manager, Jeannette, who encouraged him to revisit the ideas of a second English album.

“She wanted me to record an English album for a while,” explains LeBlanc. “I needed to step out of my comfort zone, and it turned out to be a truly gratifying experience.”

While LeBlance gives off some distinctly Acadien vibes, he’s also worked with some of Nashville’s top songsmiths (along with producer and multi-Canadian Country Music Award-winner Jason Barry) to crafts 10 new songs for the album.

“I wanted this album to have a diverse sound, but it’s also important to me to make people happy through my music,” says LeBlanc. “If I can connect with a song, then hopefully other people will too.

When It’s Right It’s Right has a little bit of everything I like. There’s up-tempo, fun stuff, happy love stories, and even some country rock in there, too. It was hard to choose the final cuts for the record, but at the end of the day, I think it turned out just right.”

The first single to be released from the album, “Another Night Like This” is about capturing those magical moments with a special someone. And just as the album title hints, LeBlanc says that he immediately knew that the song would be right for the album.

“Imagine a warm summer night, the kind when fireworks and butterflies are ever so present, and you just don’t want it to end,” says LeBlanc, describing the inspiration for the new single. “It may be your first love, or it may be ‘the one’…

“And if we’re lucky, it happens to us once in our lifetime.”
