Iceberg Alley Performance Tent Cancels 2020 Festival

Usually held in September, Iceberg Alley’s organizers seem to have held out some hope that they might still squeeze in at the end of the season’s festivities.  Today, however, the eleven-day festival held on the banks of Quidi Vidi Lake at the edge of St. John’s, NL, has finally announced that they’ll be joining the list of festivals that have been cancelled by COVID-19.

Organizers made the announcement regarding the festival’s cancellation this morning via their social media.  Included in the announcement was a reassurance for patrons who had already purchased their tickets digitally that they would be automatically refunded, with the festival balking the growing trend of asking ticket holders to carry their tickets forward to 2021 (or whenever we get back to normal…).

The announcement read as follows:

“Unfortunately, we must confirm that due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus and the government restrictions on concerts and large events in 2020, the Iceberg Alley Performance Tent is cancelled for this year.

We thank everyone who has already purchased tickets for this year and want you to know that you will receive a full refund within the next two weeks.

If you made your purchase online, you do not need to contact us. We will begin processing refunds automatically via your original method of payment.

Refund requests for tickets purchased via an etixnow kiosk located at Orangestores, may be submitted via email to info@etixnow.com, or toll-free @ 1-877-384-9669. Please include your ticket serial number in your e-mail.

We look forward to setting up the ‘Big Top’ for September 2021. Until then, stay safe.

For information please contact info@icebergalleyconcerts.com or view our website at www.icebergalleyconcerts.com.”

Iceberg Alley had already announced a substantial lineup for this year, including April Wine, Trooper, Chilliwack, Johnny Reid, Jimmy Rankin, Paige Penney, July Talk, Wintersleep, Tokyo Police Club, Barenaked Ladies, The Masterless Men, The Navigators, and a special reunion show of the original Irish Descendants. Iceberg Alley Performance Tent’s annual festival had been scheduled to be held from September 9th – 19th, 2020.
