Leaning in hard with a sound that might have been born the greasy lovechild of Andrew WK and Dave Grohl, and a noisy 90s look to match, Halifax’s Dazor releases a new video for “All Night.”
The song takes a look a realistic approach to life, and perhaps the music industry in particular, with the recognition that some things just can’t be rushed.
“‘All Night’ is a song about pushing forward no matter the circumstance, although you may not be where you wish to be in life,” explains Dazor’s frontman Ian Panter.
“As the lyrics read ‘your time will come’ and ‘we’ve got all night,’ [the song is] telling you to chill out and that you have time on your hands to get to where you want to be with life or in a certain situation.”
According to Panter “All Night” was also written to describe the need to feel something. Though we may search for certain emotions, we can’t always expect to find them, and often we find what we really need by not looking for it at all.
Panter points out that the song goes on to say “close your eyes so you wont see it coming.”
“I think the best things in life don’t go according to plan, so go with the flow and try to make the best of whatever you got going on.
“I feel like its something that we all live on a day to day basis, especially in the music industry. We are all trying to get our songs heard. Sometimes people don’t take to them and it can be discouraging. We just wanted to remind ourselves that we’ve got time, and we just got to keep enjoying it.”
The track and video both bring us back to the glorious and grungy days that were the 1990s — back when radio music was fun and catchy but still loud and in your face. Giving off a certain Foo Fighters vibe, Dazor comes across as heavy yet easily digestible.
