Future Forest, New Brunswick’s only award-winning glow-in-the-dark EDM festival that allows you to live out your FernGully fantasies, has finally announced the first volley of their 2018 lineup.
At noon today Future Forest announced fourteen acts, foremost of which are Brazilian/Bavarian producer Alex Stein, and Misstress Barbara, arguably one of the biggest DJs in Canada.
“Our music headliners for this year are super diverse I think the most diverse yet,” says Future Forest organizer Tim Kukula.
“I have been wanting to book Misstress Barbara since the first show I did in 2007 she is a legend in the electronic community. We are also excited for our first South American headliner Alex Stein coming from Brazil he has been releasing some of the most cutting edge techno.”
The acts announced for Future Festival 2018 so far include: Alex Stein, Misstress Barbara, Alexi Delano, an-ten-nae, Anna Morgan, Dimond Saints, DMVU, Joe Nice, Marten Hørger, Esseks, Mat The Alien, Plantrae, and Yheti.
Wilson Pickett was unavailable for comment on his attendance this year.
This will be the second year for the festival at Albright’s Corner, half an hour outside of Fredericton. The festival moved from Wark’s Point after neighbours became concerned with noise, but the new location has provided both opportunities and challenges.
“I’m really excited for this year because I don’t need worry about if we can have the event or not we have our own land. This allows us to focus on making the festival even better vs fighting to have music after midnight. Last year was insane we had no idea how big of a job it would be prepping the new site but we did it,” says Kukula.
