Halifax’s Ursa Bright (formerly Orchards) are lost deep in fantasy with their new video for “Flesh.” Taken from their debut album, A Shining Sea of Dopamine, the track indulges in earthly desires on a cerebral plane, dropping lines like “we’re off to bed, but not to sleep”, to name one of the less explicit ones. Rather than gratuitous debauchery, the band explain that “Flesh” is actually a warning, running contrary to its sensuous lyrics. New Music: The Charm is in the Details of Corey Isenor’s ‘Absinthe & Smoke’
For someone with a more folk-leaning background, Corey Isenor seems to have settled comfortably into his new folk-pop style on Absinthe & Smoke. Isenor’s gentle voice, coupled with the dramatic flair of the instrumentals is reminiscent of The Mountain Goats, or even The Red Hot Chili Peppers if they decided to go in a more muted direction.
