New Music: Saint-Jack’s ‘Birmingham’

Prolific artists are intriguing, especially those who can operate across a wide variety of genres. When that artist is also a music journalist/label stakeholder/media figure, things get real interesting. Saint-Jack is the solo personna of Fredericton based singer songwriter JE Sheehy and one of many musical projects for the 28 year old  (his other bands include Beard Springsteen, The Trick, and Deep Fryer). His debut 3 song EP ‘Birmingham’ was released on Nov. 28th on Bored Coast Records and is a nice addition to Sheehy’s growing catalogue of genre and discipline spanning creative work. Off Grid Ales: Brewery Opens Somewhere Outside of Harvey Station This Week

New Brunswick is seeing a rapidly rising tide in the craft brewing industry, and a resurgence of the traditional public house in the form of the modern taproom. Craft breweries are finding homes in communities, and in turn have been giving communities a home. Their success shouldn’t come as a surprise: they are being embraced as an inherently local product, contributing to a local economy, and often tied to a local arts and culture scene, not to mention an excellent source of beer. As the demand increases we’re beginning to see craft breweries pop-up in some interesting places, including Off Grid Ales; their story is just as much about where they are as what they do. Initial Line-Up Announced For 2017 Saint John ECMA’s

The East Coast Music Association has begun trickling out the names of some of the performers for the 2017 Award show. Taking place April 27th at Harbour Station, and hosted by comedian James Mullinger, this will be the first time since 2002 that the event will be held in Saint John, New Brunswick.
