When Rachel Beck set out to cover Whitney Houston’s 1987 platinum hit, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” it wasn’t with the intention of reproducing note for note. Rather than jumping in with both feet, where Houston’s track largely found its strength as a high energy dance number, Beck instead chose to focus in on the meaning behind the song’s lyrics. Monthly Roundup: January 2019
It’s a brand new year. It’s a fresh new beginning for all of us, like putting on a fresh pair of socks, especially if your Christmas went well. It’s already been a big year for us, with plenty of things in the works. We’re off to a great start, having covered three festivals (look for our recap of Music PEI Week and Shivering Songs next week) and received our first two East Coast Music Award nominations! Single: Kellie Loder Pens Soundtrack for Superpower Dogs IMAX Trailer with ‘Fearless’
Kellie Loder is making a transition to the big screen with her newest single ‘Fearless.’ The track was written specifically for use in the trailer of the upcoming IMAX documentary, Superpower Dogs. The film follows the lives of various first responder dogs around the world and the roles they play to save lives. The film is narrated by Chris Evans, of Captain America fame, and is set to release in IMAX theatres on March 15th.
