Joshua Arran of Prince Edward Island’s The Noisy Crows might be a little late with his Christmas gift, but it wasn’t written for you, anyway. Appropriately veering off for a solo production with “Angel,” Arran’s new song was recorded as a Christmas present for his girlfriend.
Fredericton’s longstanding bar and music venue of choice, The Capital Complex, will be coming under new ownership. The venue announced tonight that Zach Atkinson, the general manager of the last ten years will be assuming ownership of the establishment with an evening celebration as they ring in their own New Year on January 3rd. Halifax’s jazz trio The Blue Lane apparently have a few surprises up their sleeves, and we mean more than just releasing a fresh new single on Christmas Eve. The band have released “Penny Jenson” into the wild, and rather than the bluesy number we probably would have expected (or anything relatively festive, given the context), the song is a wild mash-up of genres and a whole lot of fun.
