Single: Bleum Release New Festival Favourite ‘Visit’

Fans of Fredericton’s Bleum will recognize this dancy new track from the electronica duo. The band have been rocking festival crowds all summer long with their latest single, “Visit.” The song delves into the bittersweet ebb and flow of relationships and the different directions our lives can take in the wake that follows.

For those of us who have been fortunate enough to have seen Bleum performing live a few times this summer, the single is already a familiar firestarter. Aside from the track’s ready-made dance party beat, it’s also catchier than festival flu that’s determined to stick with you through the season.

“We talk a lot in our culture about how to deal with destructive dynamics when it comes to family, friends and relationships. It’s something I think about a lot,” says Brittany McQuinn, representing approximately half of the Bleum duo.

“Sometimes you really do have to leave someone in your past because things between you aren’t healthy. But sometimes, people learn, grow and can become a positive part of your life again.

“This song is really about that forgiveness and desire to reunite. In my experience, that joy from reconnecting with someone you had let go might be a stronger feeling leading to a deeper bond than the hyper excitement of a new friendship or relationship can.”

If you’re looking to catch Bleum live in the next couple months, the band will be headlining the Fredericton’s Own Stage at the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival, on Friday, September 14th at 8:15. They’ll also be showcasing on the Electronic Stage at Music/Musique NB’s Festival 506 in Caraquet, New Brunswick on October 26th, 2018.
