In an effort to insure that New Brunswick gets a fair shake, both The Capital Complex and CHSR 97.9 FM are taking advantage of the National Campus Radio Conference in Fredericton to highlight the abundance of local talent by hosting a four-day extravaganza of the best and bright brightest musicians that the province has to offer.
The Capital Complex and CHSR 97.9 FM have joined forces to organize Hometown Heroes, a one-time only festival of New Brunswick’s finest indie, folk, rock, punk & more between June 6th and 9th, 2018.
The four-day festival will feature live performances at UNB, The Charlotte Street Arts Centre and The Capital Complex. Running alongside the National Campus and Community Radio Conference, the event will provide an opportunity to showcase some of our favourite bands in front of music director and programmers from across the country.
“We can’t wait to get all these artists in one place for a weekend,” says Erin Bond, CHSR’s Station Manager, who will be organizing the event. “Hometown Heroes really highlights the diversity and integrity of New Brunswick musicians, and getting to show that off to music fans & programmers from across Canada is a pretty special opportunity!”
“The idea was because we have delegates coming from across Canada, and I don’t think New Brunswick is ever really given a fair shake. What’s coming out of this province (musically) is amazing and I want to show it off while folks are here. I’m trying to level the playing field a little bit.”
The full line-up for the event includes: Julie Doiron, The Olympic Symphonium, The Hypochondriacs, Motherhood, Tampa, Little You Little Me, Simon Daniel, Kill Chicago, Janowskii, Brookside Mall, David R. Elliott, Jerry-Faye, Joey Robin Hache, Ladd & Lasses, Saint-Jack, Levi Rowan, S.H.R.I.M.P. Ring, Wangled Teb, Young Satan In Love, Radium Doxy, Spoutnique, and Evan LeBlanc.
Tickets are currently available online as well as Graystone Brewing, Grimross Brewing, and Backstreet Records in Fredericton.
