Music Video: Pineo & Loeb (ft. After Funk & Liinks) cover Michael Jackson’s ‘Earth Song’

Pineo & Loeb weren’t exactly lowering the bar with ELEVATION. As easy as it would be to dismiss their latest album for being a collection of covers, they’ve picked some amazing songs and collaborators to work with. These covers feel like genuine upgrades, breathing fresh life into songs that long held positions at the top of the game. Today the duo released their first video from the album: a cover, featuring After Funk and Liinks, of Michael Jackson’s Grammy-nominated hit from 1995, “Earth Song.” Honestly, we might like it better than the original. Seachange Music: Stan Rogers Folk Festival’s Artistic Director turns Festival Consultant

For up-and-coming (or even well-known) musicians and artists, finding the time it takes to properly sell your art and make a living off it can be daunting. With little circulating knowledge on how to manage your business circulating in the local music community, important tasks like applying for grants often get put on the back burner. Chris Greencorn, artistic director of the Stan Rogers Folk Festival, sees this problem and has created Seachange Music: a program designed to help musicians and music festivals with these important but tedious tasks. Single: Dave Gunning Laments Life on the Road with ‘In the Time I was Away’ While Announcing Tour

Dave Gunning has earned himself multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards, a JUNO nomination, and eight East Coast Music Awards, but that has all come at a cost. Over the course of his two-decade-spanning career the veteran songwriter and storyteller has done the leg work by touring extensively and his newest single, “In The Time I Was Away,” is a lament for the moments missed while on the road.
