Matt Mays has been shaking up his own sound and showcasing his versatility since the release of his 2017 album Once Upon a Hell of a Time… and the 2018 acoustic version of the same album a, Twice Upon a Hell of a Time…. It’s the whole premise of his Howl at the Night tour which will be giving audiences across Canada a taste of both sides.
Ahead of the tour he’s released a brand new pair of singles to emphasize that dichotomy. Working with Matthew Angus of Fast Romantics, Mays hits hard on the dance beats for “Let There Be Love” and then pivots for an acoustic version that’s almost a completely different song.
