Silver Wolf Band, out of Happy Valley-Goosebay, Labrador, want to set something straight about nearby Lake Melville: it’s not a bay, it’s an estuary and probably even a metaphor. The curiously named body of water has been a matter of some debate, and in a pique of accurate hydrological pedantry, Silver Wolf Band have either laid matters to rest with the matter-of-factly titled single “Estuary,” or else stirred up a new seven-day wonder for the people of Labrador to sort out. Single: Carry The Lost Loudly Champion Getting Outside on ‘Pick Your Poison’

In the six months following the release of Carry the Lost’s last single, “Battle Tested,” the whole world has changed. The Halifax band, once so confident in their status as veterans of hard rock, has had to manage expectations due to the current status of the pandemic. Music Video: Hauler Go Full Tim Burton on ‘The Widow’s Vow’

Hauler, a contemporary roots incarnation of Slowcoaster consisting of Steven MacDougall and Mike LeLievre and joined by Canadian Folk Music Award-winning fiddler Colin Grant, are crafting some folk songs of their own. This isn’t at all surprising; the band’s Cape Breton roots practically implies some level of storytelling will find its way into their music.
