So, 2021 happened. All of it. From the storming of the United States Capitol to the death of Betty White. From start to finish it’s been one wild ride—and all while rarely setting foot outside. The final month of the year hasn’t been all that different, but we did use that time to produce some really engaging content…
We’re ready to put the final nails in this year with our annual tradition of very scientifically and democratically sorting through
each and every song sent our way and assembling them into our list of The Best Music of 2021.
We understand that no one will be entirely happy with any of these decisions, but the staff have only just barely escaped the process with their lives still intact, which is still more than we can hope for in 2022. Not even during the darkest moments of 2020 did we ever throw our hands up and exclaim “Damnit, get me some puppets! It’s the only way we can report the news without inflicting further trauma.” This year came a little closer. 2021 meant more cancellations, re-schedulings, and re-cancellations — all while regularly putting more stuff up our noses than some nostrils will ever see during peak festival season.

Boy, it’s been forever since The Nerdz tore up the stage back in 2007.For Peter MacDonald, who goes professionally by the diminutive moniker ‘Pete’, it was his first chance to play in a band—he was in the fifth grade—but not his first crack at performing.
