Our beloved Partner, those darlings of Sackville, may have crafted the best album of 2017 and maybe even one of the best stoner rock albums of all time, but it might not be enough to escape the sophomore slump. Saturday the 14th, the band’s follow up to the very excellent In Search of Lost Time, is perhaps not all it could be. New Music: Andrew Spicer ‘Bi-Polar Bear’ Is Like the ’90s Took a Victory Lap
As far as one-man bands go we all have a certain stereotype in mind. We all have that image of a guy holding an accordion with a bass drum strapped to his back and juggling any number of instruments necessary to flesh out whatever it is his busking license is allowing him to subject us to.
This concept of a one-man band is about as far away as you can get from Andrew Spicer. His album Bi-Polar Bear is probably the last place you’d find a kazoo. Instead we’re treated to what sounds like a victory lap of the ’90s.

With Hogtown Collective Halifax’s production of Great Harbour being hosted at the Alexander Keiths Brewery, this is not your typical sit down in your seat and look up at the stage kind of production. Co-written by Drew Carnwath and Sam Rosenthal, Great Harbour embraces the concept of being able to choose-your-own-adventure, which seems to be becoming more popular with audiences nowadays. Audience should be prepared to explore rooms and tunnels of the brewery to catch multiple scenes and scenarios unfold.
