Theatre New Brunswick’s The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’s first performance saw a standing ovation after 90 minutes of talking creatures, sword-fighting and wide-eyed imaginative spectacle brought the audience to their feet. Directed by TNB’s Lynda Hill, dramatized by Joseph Robinette and based off the classic novel by C.S. Lewis, the play brings the power of imagination onto the stage and is the perfect family fun for the holiday season. The latest 9-track album from Halifax singer-songwriter Cassie Josephine gives listeners the perfect opportunity to relax and picture themselves in a coffee shop listening to this album along with Jack Johnson’s melodies and Michael Buble’s soft jazz. In Review: PIG and Fruit Machine Goes Against Mainstream and Evokes Strong Emotional Response

Described as two productions of physical theatre, one may not be sure what to expect from the performances of  PIG by Solo Chicken Productions and Fruit Machine by their emerging artist initiative, the coop, as the lights fall and a woman veiled in red shows up. However, in the Open Space Theatre of Fredericton’s Theatre New Brunswick, the hour that follows will see viewers in a deep reflection on the oppression of both modern-day women and the LGBTQ2+ community—just not in a mainstream fashion.
