Prince Edward Island’s all-ages folk music festival, Cloggeroo, is returning this year for it’s sixth year. With what has become a tradition for the Cloggeroo announcement they’ve just announced their (clothes) lineup for 2019 with a new video. As usual, the festival will feature many East Coast favourites, including Ouroboros and Tomato/Tomato, not to mention their usual friendly good times on the beach. That’s the approach Nimrods’ of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island are taking, or at least the next best thing, after their plans to open a beer garden alongside their downtown food truck came to a halt. Single: Kim Harris Returns After Nearly Five Years with ‘Heirloom’
Kim Harris packs a punch. Drawing comparisons to the “gentleness of Aldous Harding, the emotional heft of Sharon Van Etten, and the sheer grandiosity of Florence + The Machine,” Harris is a powerhouse whose vocals are the things scientists find escaping from black holes. She’s following up her 2015’s critically-acclaimed LP (not to mention voted in as having one of the 25 Best Album Covers of the East Coast), Only The Mighty. Her new single, “Heirloom” leans heavy into the arena of alternative pop, but with a pillar of strength at its core. Music Video: Rich Aucoin Works out a Dystopian Cure with ‘The Other’
Rich Aucoin has a habit of pushing well past the boundaries of normal and his latest album, Release, seems to be blowing past them entirely. “The Mind,” Aucoin’s first video released from the album featured an alien presence in a familiar but imposing landscape and now “The Other,” the album’s second single, explores the dystopian society of an alien world. It’s almost like Aucoin is telling us that through escapism we might find parables for compassion and tolerance.
