Single: Moonwake Break Out New Sound On ‘Constant Variable’

Halifax’s Moonwake have briefly emerged from the studio for the first time since May, poking their heads out just long enough to splash a fresh single in our faces and give us a taste of their new sound. “Constant Variable” is the band’s nod to Bill Murray,  or at least what they acknowledge is a Bill Murray-type scenario, of finding yourself in a frustratingly repetitive slump, but with synths.

Music Video: Shotgun Jimmie Finds Inspiration in Silent Films for ‘Fountain’

Music videos and silent films aren’t the sort of thing you’d expect to cross paths very often – given their antithetical nature – but that won’t stop Shotgun Jimmie. The Sackvillian darling and his band took the opportunity of performing at Sappyfest this year to film a video for “Fountain,” the latest single from his album Transistor Sister 2, which was released this August. Folly Fest Announces Search For New Festival Director

Feels Good Folly Fest are looking to shake things up a bit going into their 12th year. The 3-day mid-June music festival, held annually in Gagetown, New Brunswick, announced today that Paul McAllister is looking to step down as their festival director, pending a suitable replacement who is prepared to step into some large shoes.
