Evelyn Jess Offers a One-Way Trip to Bring One Lucky Fan ‘Home to Newfoundland’

One Newfoundland musician is sharing her love for her home province with more than just a song. Evelyn Jess has released her first video, “Home to Newfoundland,” with a very special offer for one lucky fan to experience firsthand what she’s talking about.

There’s only one way to see Newfoundland properly and that’s with your own two eyes and ears. That’s come as a bit of a challenge over the last couple years with tourism coming to a halt, but it seems that Evelyn Jess is putting her money where her mouth is to change that. With the release of her new video, she’s offering one homesick fan the opportunity of a flight “Home to Newfoundland.”

“It’s been a rough couple of years for everyone being separated from so many loved ones, and this new song is my ode to that longing for Newfoundland,” says Evelyn.

There is one catch, however. As great of a opportunity as this might be, the winner is hopefully a big fan of the price since the flight will be one-way.

“It’ll be up to the lucky winner if they wants to go back to the friggin’ mainland,” adds Evelyn.

It’s not exactly a ticket to Mars, but there’s always the chance that these trips will last longer than expected

The song itself features a slew of familiar names, both in front of and behind the camera: GreyJay (Producer, Mandolin, Upright Bass, Vocals), Marty Ylitalo (Drums), Carole Bestvater (Fiddle, Vocals), Michelle LaCour (Accordion), Mark Hiscock (Vocals), Phil Goodridge  (Vocals).

The ticket is good from anywhere in Canada, and those interested in coming “Home to Newfoundland” can enter into the draw by sharing Evelyn’s Facebook post.

“My producer, GreyJay and I will draw for the winner on Friday, September 10th, in a live stream from our Rare Birds Songwriters Circle at The Peter Easton Pub, featuring Adam Baxter and Sean Panting,” says Evelyn.

There’s also a genuine, in-person single release party for “Home to Newfoundland” happening on Friday, August 20th, 9:00 P.M, at The Ship Pub with guests Monica Walsh and Peter McGuire. Cover is $10 at the door.
