TwoFifteen Records: CHSR Station Manager Launches Record Label

There’s a lot more to being a band than just playing guitar (and we’re told that anybody can do that). Even if you have got the basics down there is still a large gap between your parent’s garage and attaining some modicum of success. Spoiler alert: this article won’t tell you what those steps are, however, Erin Bond will. The Station Manager for Fredericton’s campus/community radio station CHSR 97.9FM is launching TwoFifteen Records, a small label with fledgling bands in mind.

“There’s a lack of opportunities for emerging musicians in New Brunswick,” says Bond.

Erin Bond, Station Manager of Fredericton campus/community radio station CHSR 97.9FM, is providing a stepping stone designed to ease bands into the world of commercially viable music.

She’ll be running TwoFifteen Records from her current home base in Harvey Station, New Brunswick. The initial roster with be limited to a select few, but Bond says she’ll available for additional services, including distribution, radio tracking, creation of bios/one-sheets, tour booking, and more.

“New Brunswick has a shortage of resources for emerging artists. They’re expected to self-promote, self-manage, have all the business skills while still having to create their art,” Bond says. “The intent of TwoFifteen Records is to elevate emerging artists. I’d like TwoFifteen to be considered a springboard, and see artists that I work with develop to the point where they can move on to bigger independent labels.”

Bond come uniquely equipped to support bands, having years of experience on the other end of the business. She’s a veteran of the industry, having been the one on the receiving end of tracking emails and phone calls from various record labels and promoters.

Not only is she CHSR’s long-running station manager and an award-winning host of CHSR radio programs Homemade Jams and Mornings Are Hard, she’s also a board member to several of New Brunswick’s music committees including Fredericton’s Girls+ Rock Camp, Fest Forward, and on the Music NB. Not to mention she’s also an integral part of the province’s music community.

TwoFifteen Records’ first physical release will be in 2019, working with Wangled Teb on their future album.
