East Coast Music Association Announce St. John’s To Host 2020 Festival & Conference

ndy McLean, CEO of the East Coast Music Association, was present at this year’s MusicNL Award Show in Twillingate, NL, for more than just a few concerts. McLean took the opportunity to announce that St. John’s, Newfoundland will be hosting the 2020 East Coast Music Awards: Festival & Conference (ECMAs). The Festival, naturally the largest of its kind in Atlantic Canada, is set to take place from April 29th to May 3rd, 2020.
“We’re very excited to head back to St. John’s for the 32nd annual ECMAs,” says Andy McLean, CEO of the East Coast Music Association.

“Known for its lively spirit, its deep roots in music and culture, and its undeniable hospitality, we are very much looking forward to working with the host team in Newfoundland and Labrador to create an unforgettable week come 2020.”

This is the first time since 2015 that the East Coast Music Awards & Conference has been held in St. John’s Newfoundland.

“The City of St. John’s is thrilled to be the host city for the 2020 East Coast Music Awards: Festival and Conference. From the abundance of diverse musical talent wrapped in world class hospitality – St. John’s has a lot to offer this event,” says St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen.

“I look forward to attending the awards and performances in person, and to working with the association to ensure a memorable and successful week for guests, performers, and the entire community.”

“The Provincial Government is very excited to have the ECMAs back in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2020,” says the Honourable Christopher Mitchelmore, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation.

“This is great news for our province as the ECMA Festival & Conference provides unique networking and exposure opportunities to individual artists and the music industry as a whole.”

News of the 2020 ECMA location comes just on the tail of its recent announcement that Prince Edward Island native Jonathan Torrens will be returning to how for a second year to host the 2019 ECMAs. The next East Coast Music Awards are set to be hosted in Charlottetown, from May 1 to 5, 2019.

Submissions for the 2019 East Coast Music Award nominations closed on October 4th, 2018. Successful nominees are expected to be announced sometime in January 2019.
