Wednesday night the Saint John Theatre Company premiered their long-awaited production Mamma Mia! – its Main Stage season finale for the 2017-2018 year. The show has been highly anticipated for a number of months with ticket sales through the roof for this ABBA-inspired musical. Saint John Theatre Company Announce Their 29th Season

Still in the midst of their 28th season and ongoing renovations at their BMO Studio Theatre the Saint John Theatre Company announced its 29th season today. The announcement included three of their historically impressive large-scale Main Stage Series productions at the Imperial Theatre, a  number of smaller works hosted at SJTC’s own BMO Studio Theatre, and a handful of works produced in partnership with other theatre companies. In Review: Theatre Konstanz Travel From Germany To SJTC For Their Production Of ‘Medea’

Last night the Saint John Theatre Company hosted Theatre Konstanz’s production of the Ancient Greek tragedy Medea, directed by Mark Zurmühle. This spectacular performance was the result of a summer visit to Saint John by the Intendant of Theatre Konstanz, Prof. Dr. Dr. Christoph Nix, in 2015. He toured the SJTC production facility and it was the beginning of a beautiful cultural exchange between the two theatre groups. In January 2017 the SJTC took its performance of An Enemy of the People to Konstanz in Germany. And last evening the SJTC hosted a special VIP performance of Medea. In Review: Murmuration Theatre Collective Debut Their Production Of ‘Lungs’

Saint John theatregoers have been itching to see another play since the Theatre New Brunswick (TNB) production of A Christmas Carol back in December. Yesterday, the waiting came to an end with Lungs, written by Duncan MacMillan and produced by the Murmuration Theatre Collective at the BMO Studio Theatre. This show was totally worth the wait! In Review: SJTC Gets Into The Holiday Classics With ‘It’s A Wonderful Life: The Radio Play’

The Saint John Theatre Company debuted its Main Stage series last night, November 22, 2017, with It’s A Wonderful Life: The Radio Play. Written by Philip Grecian, this onstage radio play is based on the classic holiday film by Frank Capra. Originally released in December 1946, the timeless story, now 71 years old, tells the tale of protagonist George Bailey.
