The new single from Nova Scotia’s Ian Janes is not so much a cautionary tale about any misadventures that involve holding your hand to a flame as it is a commiseration. Sometimes, for the sake of our own survival, we can be expected to have more sense than a common month and yet these ill-advised dalliances of the heart seem to happen again and again.

Mo Kenney Releases a Lonesome Take on Daniel Romano’s ‘Hard On You’

Mo Kenney has been going hard on the covers for the last year. Her latest, “Hard On You” comes from Daniel Romano’s 2011 album, sleep beneath the willow, which was longlisted nominee for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize. The Backstays Dig Into the History of Saint John and Its Modern Counterparts on ‘No Hot Cargo’

The Backstays are quickly earning a reputation as the bards of Saint John. Wolf Castle Sponsors New $3000 Prize for Indigenous Artists in New Brunswick

Mi’kmaq Hip Hop artist and two-time ECMA-nominee Tristan Grant, who performs as Wolf Castle, has launched a pilot project with Music·Musique NB in hopes of aiding Indigenous musicians within New Brunswick. The NB Indigenous Artist Development Grant, sponsored by Grant, aims to provide the tools, support and guidance that he might have benefited from when first beginning his music career.
