Music Video: Tachichi Revisits the ’90s Once Again with ‘Everything’

Tachichi’s just checking in with the release of his latest single “Everything.” As the title would suggest, it’s an whole lot of Tachichi catching us up on what everything and his Sipset crew have been getting up to in Halifax since releasing Chico’s ’90s Project a year ago.

Rapping over a beat by New Brunswick’s Sean One, Tachichi describes “Everything” as essentially being a song about having fun, albeit with fair number of sampled gunshots tossed in along with a commentary on McDonalds.

With a melody and a premise that popped into his head upon hearing the beat, “Everything” is, at its core, about the absolutely necessity of good times spent with his crew.

“Well, to borrow some words from my good friend Ghettosocks, ‘we insist!'”

Shot and directed by Darryl Duzak, co-directed by Tachichi, and edited by ChanHays and Ghettosocks, the video shows Tachichi in his natural habitat. Much like his last album, the video leans hard into the aesthetic of a past decade, while he casually raps against the backdrop of The Halifax Commons skatepark and in front of Alterego’s, his friend’s cafe on Gottingen St.

“Did a one-day shoot in the skatepark of the Halifax Commons with a drone flying over head, clocking me dance with my red cup in hand! I wanted to do it in a throwback 90s rap/skate vid look,”says Tachichi.

“Wanted to get Alteregos Cafe in there too because it’s a great place that supports local arts and the people who create it! Also the food is slamming! My homie Logan slid thru with the Beamer and the flex was on, I suppose.”

Tachichi’s video for “Everything” is the first single to be released just ahead of his upcoming album Top Ten, on December 28th, 2018 via Hand’Solo Records.
