The music of Halifax-based singer and songwriter Jont has always typically come with a nurturing aspect to it. His latest album, Thank You for the Medicine, spells it out for us right in the title. These songs are designed to uplift and heal, either through a positive message or simply advocating for both the long and short-term benefits of dancing away your worries.
Opening with the line “I’m not good when the party’s packed,” the newest single from POSTDATA (aka the solo project from Paul Murphy of Wintersleep) seems like a solid candidate for a socially-distanced performance video. “Nobody Knows” contains a laundry list of faults and insecurities bound up in a cheerful jangle and, appropriately, the new video playfully addresses the ominous pre-apocalyptic world we now find ourselves in.
