It’s time for The East’s very scientific and democratically sorted list of The Best Music of 2020. As you can imagine, it was quite the year and whatever challenges we faced, we did our best to face them together.

Everything, this is, except for this list. You would not believe the amount of bloodshed we endured to arrive at this moment, the number of bloodied noses, bruised egos and fatally demoralized interns.

Catherine MacLellan Leads the Way for 2021 Music PEI Award Nominations

Music PEI has announced the nominees for their 2021 Music PEI Awards, with one artist taking a fairly substantial lead. Having released her album Coyote in October 2019, veteran performer Catherine MacLellan seemed to stand a fair chance of coming away with at least a few nominations – she now leads with nine. Rube & Rake and The Heavy Horses Frontrunners for 2020 MusicNL Award Nominees

MusicNL has announced the nominees for their 2020 music awards, with two bands tied for first place. St. John’s-based bluegrass duo Rube & Rake and Justin Mahoney’s murder ballad vessel, The Heavy Horses, both came away with six nominations apiece.
