Kellie Loder’s third and most recent album, Benefit of the Doubt, is experiencing no shortage of praise. Loder combines the genres of folk and pop on Benefit of the Doubt to deliver common sense and conventional wisdoms in a way that’s produced on a grand scale. The album has the sound of an award winner and the already JUNO-nominated musician has recently been nominated for a slew of MusicNL awards for her album, including The Anchor Inn Female Artist of the Year, Pop Artist of the Year, and the Ron Hynes SOCAN Songwriter of the Year. At some point in time an experience in Alberton, Prince Edward Island seems to have left a sour taste in Rick Sparkes’ mouth. Sparkes and his band, The Enablers, have returned with “Prince County Fair,” the latest single release of their upcoming album, The Trouble With The Light. Less of a qualm with the local mid-Summer exhibition, the song is about the emotional association with a place that can be hard to shake when things don’t turn out like you expect. Music Video: Erin Costelo Announces New Album With ‘Lights Down Low’
Not one to rest on her laurels, Erin Costelo is releasing a fresh album just a year after making history at the Nova Scotia Music Awards. Last November, Costelo became the first female producer to take home Producer of the Year among a slew of other awards and nominations for her self-produced album Down Below The Status Quo.
