Q&A: Why Comedian James Mullinger Still Works Here

Last month we reviewed James Mullinger’s film ‘Anything Is Possible’,  the recently released full length comedy show of his record-setting performance at Saint John’s Harbour Station. Over the course of the show the Londoner-turned-Maritimer turns the mirror back on his audience in a celebration of the quirky idiosyncrasies of the east coast lifestyle he finds himself immersed in.

Mullinger openly admits during the show that the arena-sized crowd could find him any day of the week wandering around the aisles of the local supermarket, but were still willing to purchase a ticket to see him on stage.

Dan Culberson — Saint John Photographer Showcases Another Side Of The City

Saint John is a city of two parts, the first being the part presented outwardly through tourism guides, posters, and media campaigns. It features nice shiny photos of Reversing Falls, the boardwalk at Market Square, and the Irving Nature Park. It is a glossy projection used to sell the city’s more marketable qualities. The second part is closer to reality—the industrial town. Saint John’s Area 506 Music Festival Announces Special Winter Concert Featuring The Sheepdogs

Area 506—Saint John’s massively successful festival, known for bringing big acts like July Talk, Wintersleep, Bahamas, Stars and Tegan & Sara to the city’s waterfront—made a special announcement today. The festival said that they’ll be interrupting their usual summer programming to bring you a break from the winter doldrums with a concert from Saskatchewan rockers The Sheepdogs.
