New Music: Elephant Skeletons Releases Real Cuts/Surreal Blood as TAAPE

Is Elephant Skeletons having some form of identity crisis? Maybe. He has recently released new music under the strange and poorly-presented guise of TAAPE. The album, called Real Cuts/Surreal Blood, was released September 6th. He claims it’s just a “place” to put the songs that haven’t found their spot on his album The Traveller, but why is it that they can’t co-exist under the same Bandcamp account? New Music: Elephant Skeletons’ ‘The Traveller Pt. 1’

Admittedly, I’ve long equated electronic music to nothing more than the muffled hip hop beats pulsating out of rusted Sunfires in a high school parking lot. But Elephant Skeletons’ latest EP ‘The Traveller Pt. 1’ has proven to me that this notion was ill informed and limited. My own inexperienced musical palette and blatant disregard for a whole genre of music left me with the taste of embarrassment, but with the forgiving overtones of fresh discovery.
