Today the 2020 Canadian Folk Music Awards announced the winners, with their awards show conducted entirely online. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic the Awards show was scheduled to be held in Charlottetown, PE, and with 21 nominations going to Atlantic Canadian artists there was a certain amount of excitement spread around. The 2020 Canadian Folk Music Awards Cancel Over COVID-19 Concerns

The 2020 Canadian Folk Music Awards, which were scheduled to happen in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, next month, have just announced the event has been cancelled this year. The festival is the latest to join a growing list of events, including SXSW, Coachella and the JUNO Awards, to either cancel or postpone due to concerns for the COVID-19 pandemic. The LYNNeS Top List Of Nominees at 2018 Canadian Folk Music Awards

The yearly competition to determine who has the most folky of folks kicked off today. The Canadian Folk Music Awards have announced their list of nominees for the 14th annual Folk-Off. 96 nominees were named across 19 categories, with East Coast folk getting (at least) 19 of those nods.
