Single: Beauts Fixate on the Details With ‘Good Measure’

Beauts have been working on something. Or maybe working through something. Their latest single is the two-parter follow-up on the low-key mania of their last release, “The City Loves Me.” Where the previous track questioned the merits and sacrifices of complex organic beings imposing the structure society of city life upon ourselves, “Good Measure” attempts to come to grips with the dehumanizing effects of modern living and the disconnect that can form between family, friends, and communities. New Music: Beauts’ ‘Waves/Wash’

‘Hardcore Easy Listening’ might seem like an oxymoron, but it’s the best phrase to describe the latest flow of sound from Halifax’s own Beauts. ‘Waves/Wash’, their sophomore release, is proof of the band’s commitment to expanding the maritime music scene with their self-proclaimed ‘shout-along choruses’. Band members Palmer Jamieson, Jeff Lawton, Darryl Smith, Erik Van Lunen, and Joel Waddell have been working hard on their sound since 2015 and show no signs of stopping.
