Five Films We’re Excited To See At Lunenburg Doc Fest

Set in Nova Scotia’s own UNESCO World Heritage Site, the fourth Lunenburg Doc Fest is kicking off September 21st at the Lunenburg Opera House and will be held through September 24th. The Capital Project Wows Early Audiences

We already know that Fredericton has a vibrant and diverse music scene. It’s a bit scrappy, and a little wild, and righteously so—there’s no denying that the talent is there in its own sort of self-supporting microcosm. It’s the sort of music scene that at the very least deserves better than cliches, but maybe we didn’t know it could look quite this good. This week, RayneMaker Productions gave an early peek at The Capital Project, their documentary on Fredericton’s music scene, and it looked good enough to garner a standing ovation. James Mullinger has been the world-class ambassador Saint John has needed for a long time. The Maritimer by way of London eased the city into the limelight by gently poking fun at it.  He recuperated Saint John’s self-image by teaching us to laugh at ourselves and celebrating the best parts of it.
