Colin Buchanan Debuts as Good Neighbour with ‘Little Know It All’ Featuring Logan Richard

Last week, Colin Buchanan was named the Producer of the Year at the 2021 Music PEI Awards, which should come as a surprise to no one. He’s turned out some top-notch award-winning albums for several east coast bands over the last couple of years, including KINLEY, Coyote, Quiet Parade, Logan Richard. He’s also performed as both member of the ECMA-winning and general pop champions Paper Lions, and the acclaimed shoegaze dream pop band Sorrey.

His solo work, however, usually has him nestled in behind someone else. Under the moniker of Good Neighbour, he’s released remixes of tunes from Sorrey and Braden Lam, but it wasn’t until now that we’ve seen him bring that to the forefront as a standalone project. As Good Neighbour, Buchanan has just released a debut single, “Little Know It All” that features rising star Logan Richard, and the indie-pop track goes out of its way to show off his production skills. Honeymoon Driver Cut Through the Pop With Layered Song About Mental Health on ‘Better Off’

The latest single from Honeymoon Driver is a Trojan horse. It might seem like a good time, but packed away inside of “Better Off” is an untold number of potentially painful moments. Wrapped up in the sweet shell of a bop is a song about hopelessness, self-doubt, and coping mechanisms of varying efficacies. Canadian Folk Music Awards Leans Into the Stream, Announces 2021 Performers

The Canadian Folk Music Awards have been making the best of a bad situation. While festivals and live performances have been shut down for more than a year now, the CFMA has doubled down on its efforts to connect with audiences.

When the world first locked, they had just three weeks to pivot their annual Awards Show into a livestream. As early adopters of the digital way of life, they’ve put in the practice necessary to capture the vibrant energy of live showcases and an awards gala, without any of this silly business of getting out of our pyjamas. They’ve just announced a six-event CFMA Awards Week program featuring musicians from across the country and it’s entirely free to take in. Tomato/Tomato Turn Car Singalong Into a Live Cover of Buddy Holly’s ‘Everyday’

In September 1957, Buddy Holly released his hit single “Peggy Sue” along with its B-side track, “Everyday,” and then, a short 18 months later, he plummeted from the skies over Clear Lake, Iowa. He died in that plane crash and, at least according to Don McLean, took the entirety of music along with him. This is precisely why I never listen to Buddy Holly while travelling anywhere. As a wise man once said, “I’m not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.”

That’s not enough to daunt the husband and wife duo of John and Lisa Mclaggan, better known as Tomato/Tomato. While recording their latest album in Nashville, the pair took to singing “Everyday” in their car until it wound up on the album’s tracklist.
