MusicNL Welcomes Rhonda Tulk-Lane as New Executive Director

MusicNL is shaking things up with the appointment of a new Executive Director. The music industry association is welcoming Rhonda Tulk-Lane into the role, and they’re hoping she will be the key to change they’ve been looking for.

Over the past 20 years, Tulk-Lane has built a skill set that the organization feels will bring a lot to the table. Prior to joining MusicNL, she held management and direction roles with the provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the St. John’s Board of Trade, which also allowed her to build key connections and relationships that could serve her very well in her new role.

In addition to her new position with MusicNL, Tulk-Lane works under self-employment at Lane Strategies. For this, she offers her clients comprehensive consultations to help them better strategize their business plans in building timelines, defining milestones, scheduling and analyzing cost.

“Rhonda’s experience in providing strategic advice and direction to boards, small businesses and entrepreneurs throughout Canada is a valuable asset to the music industry of our Province,” says Amy House, Chair, MusicNL.

Now a year past the organization’s 2019 announcement stating their ire financial state, it would appear that Tulk-Lane’s expertise will be well suited to helping the organization get back to where it needs to be, organizationally and financially.

“Growing our music industry is key to driving economic growth, job creation and investment. A community’s passion for music is important to attracting talented people to visit and stay,” says Tulk-Lane.

It would seem that with the year 2020 comes great change; MusicNL is the second regional music industry association in Atlantic Canada to appoint a new Executive Director this year. Music Nova Scotia announced earlier this year that Allegra Swanson will be taking on the role of their organization’s Executive Director on September 8, 2020.
