Nova Scotia rockers Dali Van Gogh have premiered their latest music video, “Have It All,” off of their recent album Under Her Spell. Featuring footage from one of their live shows at Garrison Brewing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the result is an atmosphere built for rock ‘n’ roll enthusiasts just looking to have a good, carefree time.
“We wanted to have a very high energy song for the recap video. The brewery was electric that night,” says Isaac Kent, guitarist for Dali Van Gogh. “We fed off the crowd in a big way, and ‘Have It All’ is one of the most exciting songs on the album.”
“It lent itself well to the footage we captured, so it was the obvious choice for us.”
The audio begins with a groovy drumbeat before the rest of the band joins in for a gritty, funk-esque jam that spontaneously slaps sunglasses on everyone within earshot. Listening to the track without confidently strutting down the street would be a herculean task.
The music video shows off the life of a party and the soul of a rocker. Alongside close-ups of Garrison’s beer, the crowd is full of headbangers and foot tappers alike, and, of course, the band themselves having a hell of a time doing what they love.
“We knew right away we were going for a good-time, party-rock vibe, and so we drunkenly penned the lyrics together,” says Cyrus Robertson-Orkish, the band’s bassist. “The next day we brought it to the full band, and it evolved pretty quickly into what it is now.”
Dali Van Gogh’s debut album, Under Her Spell, was released 29 March 2019.
