MNB Awards 2016 (LP Chiasson)

The Hypochondriacs, The Motorleague, And Kill Chicago Amongst 2017 Line-Up For MNB’s Festival (506)

Music/Musique NB (MNB) is putting on their 11th annual Festival (506).  As a celebration of homegrown talent, the event will be hosting 32 bands and solo artists from all over New Brunswick.

Highlights from the festival’s announcement of performers include Moncton’s own The Motorleague, 2017 winners of the East Coast Music Award for Rock Recording of the Year. You can catch them shredding the stage their with punk-influenced hard rock tunes.

The 2016 Prix MNB Award winner for Album of the Year, Kill Chicago will be playing as well. This four-piece group from Fredericton will be filling the audience’s ears with what they call full-blooded, punk-inspired, electrified blues-rock.

Two other Fredericton-based bands that will also be taking the stage this October are The Hypochondriacs and CHIPS. The Hypochondriacs are rockabilly group that is currently taking Eastern Canada by storm, ahead of their debut album release this September. Newer to the scene, pop-punk outfit CHIPS  will be delivering fast, melodic and dance-driven music to the Festival (506) audience.

Whether you are a longtime local music fan or have never set foot at a live concert, this festival welcomes you to celebrate the music of New Brunswick. Festival (506) takes place in Moncton between October 12th and 15th 2017 (just be careful not to confuse it with the Area 506 which takes place August 5th and 6th in Saint John).

“Those of us working in the music industry know all the incredible work our New Brunswick artists are doing,” says Jean Surette, executive director of Music/Musique NB (MNB). “It’s a pleasure for us to offer a stage for them to shine!
